Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston about the police's leniency regarding DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. Following her stint in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative journalist. After that, she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. Her current position as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She co-hosted several of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted Miss USA's pageant as and the Miss Universe Pageant.
